BCA Youth Company
Youth Company is a performing group for students currently on Brookfield Center for the Arts Competition Teams. Placement is select and by invitation only. Youth Company is Directed by Melissa Sue Anderson, features a team of our highest caliber instructors and coaches, and runs in the fall and winter of our dance season.
Youth Company is a unique contemporary-based dance company for students who want to experiment in different styles of dance, and are looking for an opportunity to grow in their dance technique, flexibility, skill work, choreography and improv abilities. Students will compete at local competitions to showcase choreography, and will also have opportunities to participate in master classes and other events specifically for Youth Company members.
For students who are interested in Youth Company, or would like more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Full information for the 2017-2018 will be released in September 2017.
BCA's Youth Company is known throughout the Milwaukee Area for their advanced technical skill level and unique choreography. Students will compete locally in our area this season to display their talent!
2017 - 2018 Season Outline
Students who are choosing to audition for Youth Company are choosing to add this to their current repertoire of dance. Regular attendance to their previous commitments to Team Rehearsals, technique and ballet is required for all company students. Youth Company will run separate from Teams and at no point will interfere with Team events. Youth Company is meant for students who are 100% committed to furthering their dance education. Rehearsals will be fun, challenging and high level but extremely motivating and inspirational.
Our goal is to provide the most positive opportunities for our students as possible. While we recognize great potential in all dancers, we understand that Youth Company is not for everyone! Youth Company is for you only if you already have a strong commitment to dance and to your BCA classes. You love to work hard and and you have an outstanding attitude 100% of the time. You are looking for more opportunities to expand yourself as a dancer. You are willing to put in the required time to prepare an elite level training. You accept corrections as part of the road to reaching your potential.
Youth company will run from the fall of 2017 through the spring of 2018. Students will participate in high level conventions and competitions. The focus will be primarily on contemporary and jazz.
Students will be contacted in September with information on this program if they are selected to be a part of this group.
