Theatre training has so many benefits, especially for kids who are still trying to find a place in the world and figure out who they are and what gifts they have to share. Theatre training encourages engagement and learning and has a positive impact on emotional, physical, and social development. Kids who participate in theatre programs enjoy the many benefits it offers and will take those skills throughout their lives, making them more creative, confident and productive individuals. But the best part of getting involved in a theatre program is that you meet great people who have similar interests. The comment we hear most about our acting company from appreciative families is “you gave my child a place where they fit in!”
Children who are exposed to theatre training show an increase in confidence, creativity, focus, accountability, dedication, teamwork, and problem solving. And these are just a handful of the wonderful life skills our young actors are introduced to through our theatre company. We built our acting company with the desire to introduce our students to these many benefits of theatre, give them a safe space to explore the theatre craft, and continue to teach them the wonderful tools to continue to develop their character.
Young Actor’s Company at Brookfield Center for the Arts is a in-depth actor training company for committed students who love their craft. We have a 10 month theatre arts curriculum that follows the kids along their acting journey and allows for their exposure to acting techniques, an introduction to leading theatre methods (ie Stella Adler, Meisner, and Stanislavski), as well as the opportunity to perform on stage! We have a place for all skill levels, from age 5 to 18. Our company is divided into three casts, mainly separated by age, to allow for students to study directly with their peers, and give them the best opportunity to learn, develop, as well as shine on the stage!
Our acting company is not only a high level training company to give kids the skills to succeed in performing arts, but also a place for all kids to feel involved, comfortable, and successful as they learn more about themselves, each other, and the world!
Auditions for our 2017-2018 Season of Young Actor’s Company will be held on May 19-20, 2017. All students are welcomed! If you are interested in learning more about our “Young Actor’s Company,” or our music & theatre program in general, please contact Molly: firstname.lastname@example.org.
